  • Walking Safari - Pioneered by Norman Carr - a much respected conservationist and the father of modern day walking tours. Basing yourself in one of the best parks you need the best guides and best possible experience.

Remoteness is the order of the day with this unmissable combination of camps often no other tourist will be encountered in some areas of the parks. The walking is at a steady pace and not designed as a route march, you will generally walk early in the mornings before a bush brunch and relax - before heading off again mid afternoon as the afternoon cools a little.  When you arrive in camp you will have everything in place already - so for you it is just relax and chat around the fire as the culinary wizards prepare dinner.

Don't worry if you feel you cannot walk every day because there's a vehicle on hand in case you would like to be driven. Whichever way you get from A to B, you'll be sure to encounter amazing wildlife .

Detailed Itinerary

  • Days 1-2 - South Luangwa National Park

Staying at: Time + Tide Luwi

Met on Landing at Mfuwe Airport and here is where the adventure starts. You are taken to camp and check in for what will be the adventure of a lifetime.

Situated deep in the National Park on the ephemeral Luwi River, Time + Tide Luwi is wonderfully remote, with no other camps for miles around.

Tranquillity envelops this camp, creating a wilderness haven that allows you to reconnect with nature in a meaningful way. Nestled in a grove of ancient mahogany trees, the safari tents are designed to fully immerse guests into the bush experience. From the comfort of your open-air lounge, watch the diverse wildlife wandering by on the grassy floodplains.

Listen to the hippos bellowing in the nearby lagoon and breathe in the aroma of African grasses drifting past on a cool breeze. Sit back and let the peace of this place wash over you.

Days 3-4 - South Luangwa National Park

Staying at: Time + Tide Nsolo

One of the most historical camps in Zambia, Time + Tide Nsolo is the quintessential barefoot luxury experience. With a design inspired by its intimate riverside setting, it is a haven of comfort amid the wild setting. Lounge on your shady private deck, watching the daily parade of wildlife visiting the permanent river lagoon.

Between game drives, relax into the cosy ambiance of the camp, listening to the resident hippo pod and watching kingfishers hover and dip delicately over the water’s surface. There is no thrill like hearing the lions calling all night, then heading out at first light to track them by foot through the bush.

Come, join us in this wild land and awaken your inner explorer.

  • Days 5-6 - South Luangwa National Park

Staying at: Time + Tide Kakuli

Perched high above the Luangwa River, Time + Tide Kakuli offers impressive vistas of the river and its many visitors below. Designed to celebrate the panoramic riverside setting, the reed and safari tents have a long, low profile and a bright, airy design.

The chitenge (main area) overlooks a permanent waterhole and the river beyond, promising game viewing right from the comfort of camp.
