Selous Game Reserve is deservedly one of the gems of Africa that should be on everyone's list. Three times the size of the more famous Serengeti Reserve and twice the size of Belgium - you really will not have to worry about overcrowding here.
Proclaimed a reserve in 1896 this pristine wilderness is home to all of the Big 5 and impressive numbers of flora, fauna and vast herds. with a lot of permanent water - finding many of the wildlife is relatively easy as they concentrate around their water source making this a thrilling safari destination.
Twinned with the stunning Spice Island of Zanzibar - known not only for its delectable smells of vanilla. cinnamon, pepper, nutmeg and cardamom but also for its stunning white sandy beaches and turquoise waters. Sip cocktails on the beach inspired by local produce grown on the island.

Day 1 - Travelling
Depart on your overnight indirect flight to Dar es Salaam
Days 2-4 - Selous Game Reserve
Staying at: Selous Kulinda Camp
After clearing immigration and collecting your luggage, you will be met in the arrivals hall for your short transfer to the domestic terminal. Charter flight to the Selous Game Reserve. On landing at the nearest airstrip - you will will be met and transferred to the camp. Enjoy the next three nights on safari taking early morning and mid afternoon game drives from the camp. Selous Kulinda Camp (formally Selous Riverside Camp) is located on the banks of the Rufiji River giving wonderful views from each luxury tent. Selous Game Reserve is three times the size of the Serengeti and twice the size of Belgium and remains one of the oldest reserves in the world after having been declared a reserve in 1896.

Days 5-13 - Nungwi
Staying at: Hotel La Gemma dell'Est
Dependent of flight timings - a last game drive early this morning before you are transferred to the airstrip in time to board the scenic light aircraft to the Spice Island of Zanzibar. Met on clearing customs and immigration in the Arrivals area. You whisked away to the far north of the island - the road transfer usually takes around 90 minutes before you arrive in the charming village of Nungwi. Check into the Diamonds Gemma D'ell Est for the next nine nights. This beach resort is a familiar favorite for European travellers and includes a large swimming pool with a sunken bar and a jetty that stretches 100 metres out into the ocean - the perfect place for evening cocktails and sundowners after your exciting Safari.
Day 14 - Departure
Check out today and final farewells as you are driven back to the airport in time for your overnight indirect flights back to the UK.
