  • Day 1 - Nairobi

    Staying at: Tamarind Tree Hotel

    Upon arrival into Nairobi off your international flight from London Heathrow, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay.

    Tamarind Tree Hotel is ideally located just 5 kms to the southwest of Nairobi within the spacious Carnivore grounds and its iconic Carnivore Restaurant. The hotel offers easy access to all parts of the city. The nearby Langata and Karen suburbs are among the liveliest and most popular in Nairobi with world-class shopping malls and excellent restaurants.

     

    Day 2 - Samburu National Reserve

    Staying at: Samburu Game Lodge

    Leave Nairobi after an early breakfast for Samburu, heading north, you pass near Thika and continue north through some breathtaking scenery dotted with rushing mountain streams and fields of tea and coffee. After Nanyuki town, continue north, eventually reaching a dusty outpost known as Isiolo, the last major stop on the journey into the remote northern frontier district. From here it’s a fairly short hop to Samburu. Arrival at the lodge in time for lunch and then depart for an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets.

     

    Day 3 - Samburu National Reserve

    Staying at: Samburu Game Lodge

    Today you will have an early morning game drive followed by breakfast, and time to relax by the lodge pool or the terrace overlooking the river. After lunch there will be another game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets.

     

    Day 4 - Aberdare National Park

    Staying at: Treetops Lodge

    Leave after breakfast and drive south and into the forests of the Aberdare Mountain range arriving at Outspan for lunch and then afternoon transfer to Treetops. This is a tree lodge set in a forest glade with a waterhole that attracts all sorts of wildlife during the day and night. The waterhole is floodlit and there is an underground viewing platform.

    Nestled deep in the forest of Aberdare National Park, the world-renowned rustic Treetops is dedicated to game viewing. This lodge-on-stilts is as space-efficient on the inside as it is unassuming on the outside. Trees grow right through the building, which has four decks and a rooftop viewing platform.

    Treetops lies in the path of an ancient elephant migratory route between the Aberdare Mountains and Mt Kenya National park, and is strategically set right in front of a watering hole and salt lick. Die-hard animal lovers needn’t worry about missed sightings, even into the early hours of the morning. An optional buzzer in the rooms alerts the guests when a spectacle is unfolding at the waterhole. Game drives and a lecture about Treetops are also available to the guests.

  • Day 5 - Nakuru

    Staying at: Lake Nakuru Lodge

    An early morning start first takes you north-west heading towards Nyahururu followed by travel in a southerly direction to your next destination, the spectacular Lake Nakuru.  Once in the park, view game en route to the lodge. Following lunch and a siesta, there is an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge as the sun sets. The national park, known for its birdlife, offers a possibility to view flamingoes.  It is also home to Black and White rhinos as well as the endangered Rothschild Giraffe.

    Days 6-7  - Masai Mara

    Staying at: Keekorok Lodge

    After an early morning breakfast, drive to Narok town via Mai-Mahiu with a brief a rest stop and proceed on to Mara arriving in time for lunch at the Lodge. After lunch, depart for an afternoon game drive returning back to the lodge as the sun sets

    Keekorok is located in the heart of the Maasai Mara National Reserve, in an area of permanent springs and lush grassland. Keekorok means abundance in the local Maasai language, and the area is often teeming with wildlife.

     

    Day 8 - Overnight Travel

    After breakfast depart the Masai Mara and head across acres of rolling wheat and barley farms to Narok, the district headquarters of this part of Maasailand. From here cross the vast plains on the floor of the Rift Valley whilst keeping an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle before heading up the rift escarpment.

    Arrive into Kenya’s bustling capital in the early afternoon. You will then be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
