In northern-eastern Botswana lies Nxai Pan National Park. The park includes its namesake - Nxai Pan - a 40km2 salt pan that forms part of the famous Makgadikgadi.
This national park is somewhat famous for its collection of the iconic baobab trees. This particular cluster is thousands of years old and were discovered by the famous explorer, Thomas Baines. Today "Baines' Baobabs" are a landmark sight for many of Botswana's visitors, including many painters - including Prince Charles - wishing to retrace his steps.
You can also find elephant, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena, and many, many other species of animal in residence here.
