  • Chobe National Park was Botswana's first, the most biologically diverse and has one of the greatest concentrations of game in all of Africa.

The park can be split into four areas each with a distinct ecosystem. In the Northeast, the Chobe riverfront (the Serondela area) is comprised of lush floodplains and dense woodland. To the west, the Savuti Marsh area is what became of a large inland lake whose water supply was cut off long ago. The Linyanti Marsh is to the north of Savuti and next to the Linyanti river, and the area between the marshes of Savuti and Linyanti lies an arid hinterland largely taken up by the Nogatsaa grass woodland.

Chobe is renowned for both its lion population and the large number of elephants upon which they prey. You can also hope to encounter giraffe, buffalo, antelope, zebra, wildebeest, hyena, hippopotamus, crocodile, leopard, and cheetah, in addition to over 450 species of bird.
