Escorted Tours
Sit back and let someone else take the strain on one of our Escorted Tours in Africa. We have selected our most popular escorted tours designed to appeal to those of you who appreciate travelling with a small group of like minded companions.

These tours offer the chance to visit a number different destinations, either by air or by road, and visit some of the top safari destinations on the continent.  You will be accompanied by an English speaking driver or guide who will be very knowledgeable about the area and will be on hand to assist throughout your stay.

Self Drive Tours
If you prefer your independence, Visions of Africa can assist in the planning of a self drive itinerary in South Africa and Namibia. On arrival you will be met and assisted with the collection of your hire car. We only use reputable renown hire car companies such as Avis, Hertz and Europcar.

You will also be given a personalised Travel Digest, which includes useful information, full contact details of where you will be staying and driving directions specially prepared for you. This pack will have maps, and detailed driving directions for every leg of your journey, throughout your stay. It also contains contact numbers for all of your accommodation along with estimated driving times and information about places en route where you might like to visit. This comes with the back up of a 24 hour local assistance telephone number should you need any help or have any questions. Needless to say we will happily recommend our favourite boutique hotels, bed and breakfast style establishments or  5 star luxury hotels along your journey.

GPS is available for hire directly from the car hire company at the time when you collect your hire car. We do not consider this necessary if you have a Travel Digest, but some people like to have it for peace of mind. South Africa and Namibia both drive on the left, and roads are well maintained and sign posted. The friendly staff at the properties we book will always gladly advise you on any recommended routes near by.

Adventure Safari Tours
Explore southern Africa, travelling overland on one of our budget adventure tours. Destinations include South Africa, Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe and encompasses all the best game parks and sights. Accommodation is in small guest houses, lodges or tented camps and can sometimes be described as ‘rustic’ but is clean and functional. This is a great way to see the countryside, its wildlife and meet local people.

The tours take a maximum of 12 people, travelling in an air conditioned vehicle with a driver/guide throughout. Guests are expected to get involved with some food preparation and where the itinerary includes camping, the putting up and dismantling of their own tent. This style of tour would suit anyone who enjoys a bit of adventure and is not looking for luxury accommodation or facilities. Families are welcome but the minimum age is 12 years old. The tours depart on set dates.

Day Tours
Visions of Africa can also arrange day tours, such as a visit to the Cape Winelands, Robben Island, Hermanus whale watching or the Elephant Orphanage or the Giraffe Centre in Nairobi. Just let us know what you would like us to include in your itinerary and we will happily assist. These can either be part of group tour or a private tour.
