An easy, overnight direct flight from London, Cape Town or 'the Mother City' is often considered to be the first place to visit if you are new to South Africa, although many of our clients return to the city year after year.

The city is not very large, and sits in a bowl under the impressive Table Mountain. The main focal point for visitors is the V&A Waterfront with its quayside shops and restaurants. This is also the point where the Robben Island Ferry departs from, and there are a number of companies offering boat trips around the coast and scenic helicopter flights. 

Travelling around the city is easy, with plentiful metered taxis available. There is also a hop-on-hop-off bus which departs from the Aquarium in the Waterfront. Single day or 2 day tickets are available, and buses depart every 15 minutes on the city loop. 

For sightseeing further afield, such as Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope National Park; Boulders Beach, Kirstenbosch Botantical Gardens and the Cape Winelands, you can either self drive, or we can arrange a day tour for you. Navigation around the Cape is easy and we supply all self-drive clients with a personalised Travel Digest containing maps and detailed driving directions for all of their journeys.
