As seen on BBC Life programme on 26 October, enjoy a unique safari and experience the amazing sight of millions of straw-coloured fruit bats as they descend upon Zambia’s Kasanka National Park to feed on this safari. Every year at the end of October thousands of fruit bats gather in the trees of the Kasanka National Park to feed for a few weeks on the abundance of seasonal fruit. By mid November their numbers reach into the millions! These bats reach 1½ half feet in length, with a wingspan of 5 feet and weigh more than 2 pounds - the size of a family cat ! To see millions of bats taking off at dusk against the setting sun is one of the wildlife wonders of Africa, and one that definitely should not be missed.
