MARA PORINI CAMP
Mara Porini Camp is the only camp in the exclusive wildlife conservancy of Ol Kinyei, which belongs to a Masai community who have recently set aside the conservancy as a sanctuary for wildlife. It is one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in the Serengeti-Mara eco-system.
This is pristine wilderness with open savannah plains, riverine forest, springs, streams, rivers, rolling hills and spectacular views across the Mara.
Accommodation
Mara Porini camp has six guest tents situated in the shade of yellow-barked Acacia trees alongside the banks of the Laetoli, a permanent spring within Ol Kinyei.The tents are spacious and each has an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet and hot water bucket showers provided at any time on request.
The camp can accommodate a maximum of 12 guests, and enables you to experience real camping, but with the comforts of a luxury hotel. The food is of the highest standard with home baked bread, fresh salads and high quality meals prepared by the camp Chef.
Soft drinks, water, beer, house wine and Gin & Tonics are all included, and served on request at any time.
Activities
Within the Ol Kinyei conservancy guests enjoy morning, evening and night game drives, sundowners at scenic viewing points and escorted walks with Maasai guides.
In our opinion..The camp is located in one of the most picturesque spots imaginable, with tents facing out with views across the spring, home to a resident hippo called 'Simon'. Attention to detail and the enthusiasm of the staff make this a wonderfully relaxing location with excellent game viewing, away from the crowds of the Masai Mara National Park.
