Day 1 Saturday Depart Windhoek and drive via Rehoboth into the Kalahari Desert for overnight. A scenic drive will be undertaken towards sunset (in open vehicles). Overnight at the Kalahari Desert on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Day 2 Sunday Drive through Kalahari and visit the Quiver tree forest near Keetmanshoop. Short stop in Keetmanshoop. Lunch en route (for own account). Continue to Naute Dam before heading to Fish River Canyon for your overnight stay. Dinner, bed and breakfast is included.
Day 3 Monday After breakfast, travel to the Hobas Campsite, an entrance to the Fish River Canyon to view the Canyons’ most spectacular northern fringes. Continue to Aus and visit the Aus Information Centre. Enjoy lunch (for own account). See desert adapted horses on entering Namib Desert. Enjoy spectacular scenery of the Aus Mountains on an unguided walk. Scenic sun downer drive in the afternoon (for own account). Stay overnight in the Aus region on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Day 4 Tuesday Optional excursion to Kolmanskop possible (minimum of 4 pax). See the ever-changing vistas of the desert landscapes when driving along the most beautiful district road in Namibia, the D707 (road conditions permitting). Arrive at your Lodge in the early afternoon. Time to relax at your Lodge. Overnight in the Maltahöhe region on a dinner, bed and breakfast.
Day 5 Wednesday Early start to visit Sossusvlei, where we will undertake a drive with 4x4 vehicles into the heart of the Namib Desert. Climb into the gorge of Sesriem Canyon before you travel past the impressive Namib Naukluft Mountains to your lodge. Overnight in the Namib Naukluft Park area on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Day 6 Thursday Drive through Kuiseb Canyon and continue towards Walvis Bay at the coast. Lunch in Walvis Bay (for own account). Visit Walvis Bay Lagoon to view seabirds. Travel to Swakopmund. Enjoy a sun downer drive to Moon Landscape in the afternoon. Overnight in the Swakopmund region on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Day 7 Friday (unguided) Explore lovely Swakopmund. You may wish to book an optional day tour (for own account) in Swakopmund (guided tour through historical town or the Mondesa township, quad-biking, sand-boarding; Living Desert Tour, scenic flight over Skeleton coast or catamaran or boat cruise at Walvis Bay). Many optional activities are on offer (for own account): visit aquarium, museum or crystal gallery, and many more. Overnight in the Swakopmund region on a bed and breakfast basis.
Day 8 Saturday (unguided) Another day to enjoy the splendours and many attractions of Swakopmund. The group who booked the Northern Tour will join you for dinner. Overnight in the Swakopmund region on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Day 9 Sunday Depart early morning on the salt road towards Henties Bay, past some pans and an array of bird life. Visit Twyfelfontein and the Organ Pipes on way into Damaraland. Lunch packs will be provided en route. We will arrive at the lodge during the late afternoon. Overnight in the Damaraland region on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Day 10 Monday Enjoy a morning scenic drive in rocky Damaraland with a guide of the lodge. Return to the lodge for lunch. Spend the afternoon at leisure or join a guided walk where you are introduced to the rich flora and fauna of the area. (The game drive might be done in the afternoon and the guided walk in the morning depending on availability at the lodge). Overnight in the Damaraland region on a full board basis.
Day 11 Tuesday Leave Damaraland. Visit a Himba village near Kamanjab and learn more about the culture and the tradition of this half-nomadic people. Continue via the little town of Outjo where you will have a spot of lunch (own account) continue on to Otjiwarongo. Stay overnight in Otjiwarongo area on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis.
Day 12 Wednesday Join a local guide on a guided morning walk through the small game park surrounding your Lodge. Around lunch time, passengers who booked the Etosha Tour, will arrive from Windhoek and join you. Continue via Outjo into Etosha National Park, where we undertake the first game drive in our touring vehicle. Before sunset we will leave Etosha again and drive to our lodge/safari camp outside the Park. Overnight in a privately owned lodge/safari camp near Etosha Park.
Day 13 Thursday The entire day will be spent in the park, exploring the waterholes along this enormous saltpan. Lunch stop at one of the rest camps (lunch for own account). DBB – privately owned lodge/safari camp near Etosha Park. Dinner, bed and breakfast is included.
Day 14 Friday Another day of explorations in this world famous National Park. Your guide will introduce you to the complex subject of managing such an enormous reserve. Lunch stop at one of the rest camps (own account). Overnight at a rest camp preferably inside the Etosha National Park; alternatively privately owned lodge near the Park. Dinner, bed and breakfast is included.
Day 15 Saturday Depart the Rest camp or Lodge and travel south towards Otjiwarongo. Continue towards Windhoek via Okahandja where we will visit a local handicraft market. Tour ends on arrival in Windhoek late afternoon.
