Namibia Escorted Tours - Namibian Wonders

14 day tour includes that highlights Kalahari, Quiver tree forest, Fish River Canyon, Feral horses of the Namib, Aus Mountains, Namib Desert & Sossusvlei, Moon Landscape, Swakopmund, Damaraland, Himba village and Etosha National Park.

Day 1 Saturday
Depart Windhoek and drive via Rehoboth into the Kalahari Desert where you stay overnight. A scenic drive will be undertaken towards sunset (in open vehicles). 

Day 2 Sunday
Drive through the Kalahari and visit the Quiver tree forest near Keetmanshoop. Short stop in Keetmanshoop. Continue to Naute Dam for a brief stop. Overnight in the Fish River Canyon area.

Day 3 Monday
After breakfast, travel to the Hobas Campsite, an entrance to the Fish River Canyon to view the Canyons most spectacular northern fringes. Continue to Aus and see desert adapted horses on entering the Namib Desert. Enjoy spectacular scenery of the Aus Mountains on an unguided walk. Scenic sun downer drive in the afternoon (for own account). Overnight in the Aus region.

Day 4 Tuesday
See the ever-changing vistas of the desert landscapes when driving along the most beautiful district road in Namibia, the D707 (road conditions permitting). Visit Duwiseb Castle before arriving at your Lodge in the early afternoon. Overnight in the Maltahöhe region.

Day 5 Wednesday
An early start this morning as we catch the sun rise over the impressive dunes of Sossusvlei. We will undertake a drive in 4x4 vehicles into the heart of the Namib Desert. Climb into the gorge of Sesriem Canyon before you travel past the impressive Namib Naukluft Mountains to your lodge. Overnight in the Namib Naukluft Park area.

Day 6 Thursday
Drive through Kuiseb Canyon and continue towards Walvis Bay at the coast. Lunch in Walvis Bay (for own account). Visit Walvis Bay Lagoon to view seabirds. Travel to Swakopmund. Enjoy a sun downer drive to Moon Landscape in the afternoon. Overnight in the Swakopmund area.

Day 7 Friday (unguided)
Explore lovely Swakopmund. You may wish to book an optional day tour (for own account) in Swakopmund (guided tour through historical town or the Mondesa township, quad-biking, sand-boarding; Living Desert Tour, scenic flight over Skeleton coast or catamaran or boat cruise at Walvis Bay). Overnight in the Swakopmund area.

Day 8 Saturday (unguided)
Another day to enjoy the splendours and many attractions of Swakopmund. Overnight in the Swakopmund area.

Day 9 Sunday
Depart early morning on the salt road towards Henties Bay, past some pans and an array of bird life. Visit Twyfelfontein and the Organ Pipes on the way to Damaraland. Lunch packs will be had en route. Overnight in the Damaraland area.

Day 10 Monday
Optional morning guided hiking trail where you are introduced to the rich flora and fauna of the area. Lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon join a sun downer drive in the Aba Huab River and possibly encounter the desert dwelling elephants (seasonal). Overnight in the Damaraland area.

Day 11 Tuesday
Leave Damaraland. Visit a Himba village near Kamanjab and learn more about the culture and the tradition of this half-nomadic people. Continue via the little town of Outjo. From there continue to Etosha National Park. Arrive in the early afternoon and undertake your first game drive into the park. Overnight in the Etosha Park area / surrounds.

Day 12 Wednesday
The entire day will be spent in the park, exploring the waterholes along this enormous saltpan. Overnight in the Etosha Park area / surrounds.

Day 13 Thursday
Another day of explorations in this world famous National Park. Your guide will introduce you to the complex subject of managing such an enormous reserve. Overnight in the Etosha Park area / surrounds.

Day 14 Friday
Depart the Lodge or camp and travel south towards Otjiwarongo. Opportunity to join the group en route to Victoria Falls. Continue towards Windhoek via Okahandja where we will visit a local handicraft market. Tour ends on arrival in Windhoek late afternoon.
