Friday - Swakopmund Upon arrival into Swakopmund you will be transferred to your hotel. Overnight at the Hansa Hotel or similar.
Saturday - Damaraland Departing Swakopmund we travel northwards past a number of shallow ponds used for salt production and farming oysters. En-route a great variety of lichens will be found, of which Namibia has some of the rarest and most interesting species in the world. A visit will be made to Cape Cross Seal Reserve. We travel inland across the barren plains into Damaraland with its rugged landscapes and flat topped mountains. Overnight at Twyfelfontein Country Lodge or similar.
Sunday - Outjo Regarded as one of the richest collections of rock engravings in Africa, this treasure house of rock engravings left by stone-age artists is the first site in Namibia to be nominated by the Namibian Monuments council for recognition by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. A virtual open-air museum with thousands of engravings and some ancient paintings. The Organ Pipes, Burnt Mountain and Petrified Forest all form part of Namibia’s rich natural history. A night drive will be undertaken on the property. Overnight at Eagle Tented Lodge & Spa or similar
Monday & Tuesday - Etosha National Park Enter the world famous Etosha National Park which owes its unique landscape to the Etosha Pan, a vast shallow depression. A wide variety of Herbivores and larger felines are found. Black and white rhino are sometimes seen. Black-faced Impala are restricted to Namibia and southern Angola, the Damara dik-dik, the Parks smallest antelope is also endemic. Hundreds of bird species have been recorded. Exit the National Park and proceed to a private Lodge situated on the outside of the National Park. Take part in a morning nature walk and afternoon game drive. Overnight at Onguma Tented Camp or similar.
Wednesday - Return to Windhoek Early morning departure to Lake Otjikoto, where in 1915, the retreating German force dumped weapons and ammunition into the lake to prevent them from falling into the hands of he South African Union Force. Several of these weapons have been recovered and can be viewed at the Tsumeb Museum. Continue our journey through Otjiwarongo and Okahandja to Windhoek. Overnight at Hilltop House or similar.
Thursday - check out of your hotel and transfer to Windhoek Airport
